University of Delaware was established in the year 1743 A.D as a private institute with the public funding. University of Delaware is located in Newark of Delaware in United States of America.  University of Delaware was founded in 1745 when Presbyterian minister opened his free school in Pennsylvania. The president of the University is Patrick T. Harker. With academic staff of 1,172 and administrative staff of 4,004 established with a motto saying “knowledge is the light of the mind” is the largest University in Delaware. There are 17,484 undergraduate students and 3,654 graduate students in total with 21,856 students in the University of Delaware. This University covers the area of 2,311 acres. The color of this University is Delaware blue, Delaware yellow, Delaware res and YoUdee blue. The nickname for University of Delaware is Delaware fightin’ and blue hens. The mascot of this University is YoUDee. This University has its affiliation with MAISA and the website for this University is www.udel.edu. University of Delaware is at the high research activity. University of Delaware is organized into seven colleges and they are; college of agriculture and natural resources, college of arts and science, Alfred lerner college of business and economics, college of earth, ocean and environment, college of education and human development, college of engineering and college of health science with its 3 schools and they are; school of education, school of marine science and policy & school of public policy and administration. University of Delaware is popular for its doctoral degree and has been ranked as the best University for the program. The University of Delaware was ranked 7^th for its animal science major, 8^th for plant science, 8^th for chemical engineering, 6^th for information science and 10^th for justice and criminology in the year 2007 whereas in the area 2006 the University was ranked 5^th for horticulture, 10^th for soil science and 10^th for kinesiology and exercise.
