American University was first established in Feb 24, 1893 as a private institute for the students to provide quality education. The motto of the University is “Pro deo et patria” meaning god and country, which means that the University is working for the welfare of the students with which they can serve the country in future with the education they gain in American University. The University runs under the leadership of President Benjamin Harrison. This University serves the highest endowment among the universities of $535,390,000. The University has academic staffs of 798. The undergraduate students of 6,776 and post graduate students of 3,464 and law students of 1,766. American University is located in Washington DC in United States of America. American University covers 84 acres of its land. AU’s color is American red and blue. The name of the American University is Eagle with the mascot of clawed the eagle. American University is a member of NCAA Division- I patriot league, MAISA. American University has its affiliation with CONAHEC, APSIA, IAMSCU, CUWMA and NAICU. AU was awarded as the politically active school 2008, 2010 and 2012. American University was ranked as the 71^st national universities in United States of America. AU is a coeducational, liberal arts University.
